The Nigeria Police Force has reported the production of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit to supplant the as of late disintegrated Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, said in an announcement on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 that SWAT will fill the holes left by SARS whose principle job was handling fierce violations particularly equipped theft and hijacking.
“In the interim, the IGP has set up another Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team that will fill the holes emerging from the disintegration of the dead SARS.
