OYO GOVT TAKES STOCK OF THE COLLAPSED BUILDING IN IBADAN
The state government of Oyo revealed Saturday morning that there was no death related to the collapse of a building that occurred Friday in the Sogoye district of Ibadan, the capital.
Toye Arulogun, member of the Commission responsible for Information, Culture and Tourism, said in a statement to DAILY POST that the multi-agency relief team set up by the governor of the State to prepare the evacuation of the victims of the collapsed building that was under construction at the time of the incident.
He noted that the wounded, who were in stable condition, had gone to the hospital without any deaths being recorded.
Arulogun said: “After hearing the news of the incident, the Governor set up a multi-agency rescue team that quickly moved to action by mobilizing equipment, materials and personnel The team was able to rescue the two victims trapped in the rubble of the collapsed building, three of which were initially rescued by hand, and no casualties were recorded during the operation. rescue ended at 3:45 am “.
He then added that the relevant agencies while warning the construction not to cut corners and use cheap materials.
He reiterated that it was imperative to respect the approved construction plans.
