Man United Close To Signing Brazil Star, Fred
The Brazilian star has been snapped arriving at the club’s Carrington training ground.
Fred is expected to become Jose Mourinho’s first signing of the summer from Shakhtar Donetsk.
The 25-year-old will fill the void left by Michael Carrick who retired at the end of the season.
The future of Marouane Fellaini is also uncertain leaving Manchester United with the need to bolster their midfield ranks.
“I’m going to talk to the people, meet my friends,” he explained.
“I still do not know where I’m going. I’ll still to talk to my agents to find out the reality of it.
“I want to focus only on the national team. It’s a unique time, the World Cup.
“We have to try to forget things from outside.”
And yesterday Brazil boss Tite urged the Red Devils to complete a deal for the midfield general.
He said: “Something like this speculation is inevitable when you’re meeting in the summer and players are always thinking of their careers.
“What we say is please resolve it as soon as possible so your head is back with us and focused on the national team.
“But if I was the manager of a club team, I would be looking to sign him!”
United finished second in the Premier League and lost the FA Cup final to Chelsea.
The Red Devils are also in talks with Porto right-back Diogo Dalot over a potential switch to Old Trafford.
