Gunmen kidnap chief security advisor in Cross River
The chief advisor for the safety of Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State, Mr. Ani Esin, was kidnapped.
He was taken home at 3 am on Tuesday and beaten to death by alleged kidnappers carrying assorted firearms.
An eyewitness who gave his name to etim claimed that the action could not be disconnected from recent political events in the state.
“Although the action is unfortunate, it may not be disconnected from recent developments in the state,” he said.
DAILY POST realized that Mr. Esin had been president of the Bakassi LGA in the state
When she was contacted by the public relations officer of the police, Irene Ugbo confirmed the kidnapping.
She stated that the incident occurred in her home in Calabar on Tuesday at 3am. He was treated in an undisclosed health facility
“When the police were informed of the incident, the police commissioner and other police officers intervened and rescued the victim.
“The driver driving the victim had an accident on the road and died on the spot, we saved the victim.
“The police under the current administration are working hard to protect citizens and property.”
